Reaquainting Myself With Bug
For the record, I'm still pretty unhappy with Full Tilt Poker and the way they treated me (and others) recently. I'm also not thrilled with the draconian terms and conditions they laid on Official Poker Rankings (OPR) and Poker Table Ratings (PTR) to cease and desist collecting data. Whoever is at the helm of FTP lately must not understand the concept of keeping the customer happy. About a half dozen players that I've spoken to lately all have had some kind of accusation foisted upon them by FTP.
So, do I hate them enough to leave and go somewhere else? Uh, maybe. The problem is I have a lot of frequent player points on FTP that I want to use up. I'm also beating their $10NL games pretty easily, so I'm a bit reluctant to leave the "candy store," as the Guru likes to put it. Dunno what I'll end up doing, but it is weighing on my mind a lot lately.
In related news, I've had a little bit of a psychological barrier to overcome since I transitioned back to the old bug account. Call me weird, but switching back to the old account seemed to bring along some previous emotional baggage with it. It's almost like I switched personalities (and abilities) along with the name change. I've been playing for eleven days now under the old (new) account, and for the first eight of those I barely broke even (made about $10 overall). Then, a few days ago, I seemed to finally shake loose the baggage and feel like I'm playing like I should be. The results, shown above, reflect my cash game stats for the last three days. Now, this is more like it. Hopefully I can keep this trend up.
Oh, and I also played a couple of SnGs lately. Had a big score of $66 in one game where I played one of the $26 tokens I had won. The play at the table wasn't too tough, and I made it into the money by essentially just staying out the way of the the other players. Pretty sweet.
Anyway, life continues to be packed full of, well, life, so I'll keep up just weekly postings to this blog for the next few months. In the meantime, I will continue to multi-table NL cash games, and also play the occasional SnG. The near-term goal is to build the 'roll up; the long-term goal is to get into some big(ger) multi-table games and see if I can make a decent score or two. Time will tell...
[EDIT: almost forgot to mention that Mr. Multi came through again. Full Tilt Poker changed their interface a few weeks ago, which eliminated the possibility of using the full-color cards that MM had created last year. The new interface did away with bitmap-type graphics (I think) and instead went to a vector-graphics scheme (again, I think). Anyway, Mr. Multi took a couple of days to decode the problem and create some new cards. I've installed the new deck, and the results are fantastic. Damn, did I ever miss these full-color cards. Sounds silly, but they really do help me play better.]
Gotta run...
All-in for now...
