WSOP ME: Matadors and Gents (and a Lady)

Woke up this morning a little bummed to see three of my picks from yesterday busted, including/especially Annette O, my heroine from Norway. Greg Merson also crashed and burned yesterday, as did Kristy Gazes. This leaves just one woman (Jackie Grazier) in the entire remaining field of 68 players. The good news is Grazier's stack is sitting at ~T4M, which puts her in 12th place and definitely in contention for making the final table.

On another positive note, Carlos Mortensen is still in it with T2.67M in chips, which puts him squarely in the middle of the pack in 35th place. I just plain admire this guy's loose-aggro style, which makes him so unpredictable and effective. Also, was reading some stats, and was (not) surprised to learn that "El Matador" is considered by many to be the most successful player of all-time if you factor in the relatively small number of events he actually plays every year.

And on an even more positive note, Yevgeniy Timoshenko is crushing the tourney, currently sitting in 11th place with ~T4.1M in his stack. It's gotta be that baby face magic.

Looking forward to today's action; I just wish there was a live feed of the play I could watch like they did a few years ago. Or even better, that I was there, live and in person. Sigh.
