Straight & Narrow

Well, after two self-imposed time-outs in the span of one week, I think I'm finally back on the straight and narrow path to winning poker. Switching from $5NL to $10NL turned my game off-track just enough to cause me to throw away nearly $60 of hard-earned winnings, which truly sucks. Hours and hours of hard work was effectively flushed down the toilet in a couple of short sessions of poor play. The only good news out of the experience was (a) I was able to recognize the problem and walk away from the tables before I pissed all my bankroll away; and (b) I took the off-time to re-tool some of my game, review some videos, and generally come back fresh and focused. I'm back winning at 8PTBB/100, which is what I was achieving in $5NL. We'll see how long this lasts.

Winning at poker requires a lot of different skills and abilities, but perhaps the most important is discipline. Discipline to stay the course, discipline to play perfectly... and discipline to walk away from the game to figure out what's wrong when things aren't working the way they're supposed to be."
All-in for now...

  1. Poker gamblers playing on the recently launched Cereus Network surely must feel like their casino of choice really cares about their opinions.
